I think Mr. Hagmann may have a best seller on his hands. I received my copy on March 17th and finished it the same day. My wife finished it on the 18th.When I heard Mr. Hagmann make the announcement that Stained By Blood was coming out I had the impression it would be similar to the Franklin scandal of the same time period. SBB easily met my expectations. I would not want to spoil the story any more than I may already have so I'll just say this book will open your eyes. If you haven't read "The Franklin Scandal" by Nick Bryant you must read it also. Together you will have monumental insight into a very frighting reality.

Great read - a real page turner. Fast paced and keeps your interest. Recommend it highly to anyone that enjoys a good whodunit.
This story is told in the narrative form and much in the style of the old detective stories. There is a bit too much detail which bogs down after awhile but nevertheless the account remains riveting. Knowing this story is based on a true case make the details even more gripping. A couple of passages were a bit difficult to read. This story will open your eyes to a truth about a shadowy part of government and community people.
I only occasionally listen to Hagmann & Hagmann, and I am not a Christian, but I very much respect Doug Hagmann from what I know of him. When I heard he had written a true-story book about his investigation of his own uncle's murder, I wanted to know more. Even if this were fiction, it reads as well as any crime mystery I have ever read and I enjoyed the read (took me about one full day, as I couldn't put it down). But knowing it was true, and seeing how much it connects with all of the satanic and pedophilia networks that are being revealed each and every day (not fast enough, IMHO, but at least it is beginning to happen) it really made me think about how pervasive this behavior must be. One can see how every level of every community is and must be compromised by these "Brotherhoods." So many things about why crimes are not investigated, prosecuted or reported on become clear. Short of reading some of the late Father Malachi Martin's books of "faction" (real stories disguised as fiction, too) this is the only book I am aware of that explores this critically important issue. I recommend it. The main thing I found myself wishing for as I finished the book was knowing where Mr. Hagmann's investigations have led since the time of this story in the late 80's. Now THERE is a story, I feel certain!
I felt shock waves course through my body as this story unfolded. It is based on the true life experience of Doug Hagmann. Marc, a private investigator, gets pulled into a cold case murder investigation--that of his own uncle. What he uncovers as the mystery unravels will boggle your mind. I commend the author for his above-board language throughout and his mild-mannered descriptions of very troubling facts-he is definitely being respectful of the sensibilities of his audience.
Absolutely captivating. Didn't need a movie screen. Through Doug Hagmann writing of "Stained With Blood" I felt, heard and saw what his masterfully written novel was declaring. In real life as a trauma RN for 39 years his novel reminded me why I always prayed for my patients.

Just finished reading this book. I am glad I bought it. It is one of those books that you hope isn't true and what you read
doesn't really exist. There were some parts I wanted to "hide my eyes" from. Just awful, sick things....I hope those parts
were exaggerated, but I fear was not. It read like a first novel. Choppy in some places and for heavens sake, did we really
have to read about EVERY time Marc drinks a cup of coffee. I am curious how many times the word "coffee" is in there.
I get it....he needs intervention. Even though I am a girl, I don't like reading the love stuff so towards the end, the parts about
Deana I kind-of sped through. When Marc and Gina go to Florida, that is when the book really picked up the pace and got
to where I wanted to finish it. As a word of caution PLEASE DO NOT let your older teen read this. I usually buy adult Christian
Fiction for my older son becuase he devours books so fast, I run out of teen books for him. I don't think there are near as many
Christian teen writers out there as adult.This is an adult book through and through. Thinking of the book, I just pray, "Please Lord
Jesus, let the characters just be a work of fiction". This book will stay with me....
WOW!!! If you're looking for a run of the mill who done it, go check out a cheap dime store novel. This book has it all. I found myself inside each of the characters as I read it. You will find that the main character, Marc, has far more than a murder case on his hands. He's up to his eyeballs in pure evil. What pulled me most about this book is the truth of it and it was written in such a way that I was living it.
